David French Orchestra


The David French Orchestra was founded in 2010, when a group of lessons students and French Music staff gathered together in hopes of creating a successful student orchestra. Under the direction of Dr. Luis Torres, the David French Orchestra was originally designed to generate excitement and create an environment where our Lesson Students have the opportunity to perform and showcase their talents.

Now entering our 3rd season, the Orchestra has been a huge success. Along with continued growth, the Orchestra also supports the Westborough Food Pantry by offering free admission to our concerts with the donation of a Non-Perishable Item. As of December 2011, David French Music has donated 1,176 pounds of non-perishable items and $612 to the Westborough Food Pantry! Without your help, none of this would be possible. Spring Orchestra Concert 2012

Date : Friday May 18th
Time: 7:30 pm (participants should arrive by 7:00 pm)
Location: Boroughs YMCA - 4 Valente Drive Westborough, MA
Admission: non-perishable item or monetary donation to support the Westborough Food Pantry. Friends and family are invited to attend this special event!

Proper Gentleman's Concert Attire

Orchestra Participant's Responsibilites:

All students are asked to attend each scheduled rehearsal with a folding music stand, orchestra music and their instrument. If you do not have a folding music stand you may purchase one from us for $14.99, we DO NOT have stands to borrow.

Any student that is not able to attend a scheduled rehearsal will need to speak with Dr. Torres. Students missing more than two rehearsals may be replaced by another student.

* - These rehearsals will take place at our New Location, 53B Otis Street Westborough

 

Dress Rehearsal : Wednesday May 16th, 7:00 pm at 53B Otis St, Westborough in the David French Recital Hall. (All orchestra participants are expected to arrive by 6:45pm with their music stands and in concert dress.)


Gentleman's Concert Dress: Black shoes, black socks, black pants and white, long sleeve, button down shirt. Black bow ties will be provided by David French Music.

Ladie's Concert Dress: Black shoes, black pants or long black skirt, white button shirt or blouse (no tank tops please)
